I designed the cover for a deluxe reissue of Thomas Tryon's novel Harvest Home, published by Centipede Press. I wanted to create something ominous, striking, and earthy. the main skull+vine+wee king image was something that I had created a few years prior for a project that never got off the ground, and with a few tweaks, it felt like it worked well in this context. The type is a piece of german 1920s or ‘30s type that felt solid and expressive enough for the project. I had access to the novel’s original art by Paul Bacon, and I used that as a screened back image underneath my new imagery.
