Book cover and interior collage illustrations for The Merchant and the Alchemist’s Gate by Ted Chiang, published by Subterranean Press.

Ted Chiang commissioned me to do the artwork for his chapbook. Designer John Berry did the book design. Each image is comprised of many collaged found images and textures and they illustrate in a more or less symbolic way the events of the story. The front cover is full color and the interior relegated to 2 colors, and tints thereof.
